Lift bridge, provides the pathway for ships between Lake Ontario and Hamilton Harbour. Site was developed by the placement of imported fill of poor environmental quality. Compounds of various metals and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, primarily benyo(a)pyrene. |

Conducted a multiple of Phase II Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs). Human Health and Ecological Risk Assessment to assess the risk posed to construction workers and ecological receptors during the post-construction period. Project was part of the National Contaminated Sites Remediation Program. |

Description: Excavating of the top 1.5 m of soil in unpaved areas on the Hamilton side and capping it with clean imported topsoil and grass. Scrapling off of the surface soil on the Burlington side. Disposal of the contaminated soil off-side. |
