Toronto, ON - Put your strong interpersonal skills and science leadership to use with the Ministry of the Environment`s Standards Development Branch. You will: assess and develop a new business process to coordinate the scientific and technical review program for community-based risk assessments (CBRAs); develop guidance documents and prepare/deliver community, stakeholder and outreach consultations to address environmental/health concerns related to environmental contamination; participate in regulation development and analyze/recommend options to resolve issues arising out of proposed Brownfields remediation approaches.

Qualifications: knowledge of theory/application of environmental sciences or related disciplines (e.g. toxicology, pharmacology), environmental legislation/ministry environmental control policies related to Brownfields redevelopment and related guidance materials to recommend appropriate guidance and process for CBRA program, assess and make a decision on acceptance of CBRA submissions, provide technical advice/guidance on submissions; knowledge of research methods/techniques to gather information, assess and resolve issues, assess validity and applicability of scientific studies; strong project management, coordination, planning, organizational skills with experience in conducting Brownfields risk assessments to coordinate external expert reviews of projects and submissions within timelines and provide technical direction to project staff; excellent analytical, problem-solving, research, communication, consultation, negotiation, presentation skills to facilitate understanding of CBRA, prepare branch response and resolve disputed outcomes.
