aboutREMEDIATION
(AR) is Canada’s leading information resource on site remediation
and brownfields redevelopment. The Web site, www.aboutRemediation.com,
was launched in March of 2001, to provide solutions, disseminate knowledge
products, showcase the industry leaders and advance the remediation
and brownfield sector across Canada. The Web site and its audience
continues to grow, and now attracts about 60,000 unique visitors per
year.
AR was developed as a partnership between
the private and public sector and
is owned and operated by the Ontario
Centre for Environmental Technology Advancement (OCETA).

AWARDS & RECOGNITION
OCETA
and the AR team Build Capacity through the development and
delivery of Tools, Frameworks and Guidance documents. OCETA uses
its experience and unique Stakeholder Engagement Process to bring
together the right people, tools and environment that
allows us to work as a team to develop specific tools across Canada.
OCETA and the AR Web site are recognized as Canada's Brownfield
and Contaminated Sites Web portal.

Award Winner for Innovation and Communication (2001)
The aboutREMEDIATION Web site was recognized
by the Canadian Urban Institute (CUI) Brownie Award for excellence
in conveying information and sharing ideas, techniques, concepts,
and approaches in relation to brownfields redevelopment. The Toolbox
is hosted as a free online resource on the aboutREMEDIATION
website.

- Brownie
Award Winner for Communications, Marketing and Public Engagement
(2009)
OCETA in collaboration with the Canadian Petroleum Products Institute
(CPPI) and the Province of Ontario were recognized with a Brownie
Award at the 2009 Canadian Brownfields Conference for development
and dissemination of a new brownfield tool, The Redevelopment
Framework for Former Services Stations in the Province of Ontario.
The Framework was also a Finalist in Category 1 - Legislation,
Policy and Program Initiatives. The Framework is hosted as a

OCETA
through the AR platform, delivers Workshops and Training Events.
OCETA provides custom training on a fee-for-service basis, for government
and private sector stakeholders, to help delegates gain a better understanding
of the brownfield redevelopment and site remediation issues, processes
and solutions. Topics and modules may include, "how to":

Brownfields Network (CBN) in 2004. Founding members included
OCETA/AR, EcoLog and CUI. The CBN was created in response to recommendations
from the NRTEE's National Brownfield Redevelopment Strategy for
Canada, and is Canada's voice for Brownfield Issues.
