OCETA was incorporated in 1993 as one of three Canadian Environmental Technology Advancement Centres to strengthen and grow the environmental industry in Canada. OCETA is a private company, incorporated as a not-for-profit organization, which operates at arm's length from government.

OCETA acts as a third party intermediary and focal point for change. OCETA works in select market sectors such as remediation and brownfield redevelopment to develop and deliver market-driven initiatives that support the market adoption of clean technology and environmentally sustainable solutions.

OCETA is a recognized leader and catalyst for action to accelerate the remediation and redevelopment of contaminated sites and brownfields. OCETA also operates the award winning aboutREMEDIATION web portal; Canada's leading information resource on remediation and brownfield redevelopment (www.aboutRemediation.com). OCETA has a 10 year proven track record the brownfield sector, and since 2004 has completed more than 55 individual projects for a variety of public and private stakeholders across Canada.
